The Doctors:
Brad Smith, D.C.
Brad was born and raised in West Fargo, North Dakota. After graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1989, he spent 10 years working in Colorado and Washington state.
During that time he met Dana Meyer and they were married in 1997. That same year, Brad injured his back and received his first chiropractic adjustment, marking a turning point in his life. The next year he spent time meeting with his chiropractor to learn about the profession and decide if he wanted to pursue it as a career. Brad chose to become a Doctor of Chiropractic and graduated with honors Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO in 2002. Brad specializes in care for work place and sports injuries. Brad lectures on such topics as eating healthy, adrenals and controlling blood sugar. Brad enjoys outdoor activities such as golfing and hiking. He loves spending time with his family hiking in the mountains and going on family trips.

Dana Meyer Smith, D.C.
Dana was born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Science.
She then worked the following five years in Colorado and Washington. During this period she met and married Brad Smith. Dana chose to become a Doctor of Chiropractic after chiropractic care helped her recover from chronic back and stomach problems. Dana graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO in 2002. Dana specializes in care for pregnant women and children. Dana teaches classes on improving posture, body stretching, and strengthening for Brad & Dana Chiropractic as well as community groups in and around Whatcom County. Dana has successfully completed two marathons and several triathlons. She loves outdoor activities like snowshoeing, downhill and cross country skiing, and hiking.

The Staff:
Val Dyksterhuis, Office Manager
Val has worked Brad
& Dana Chiropractic since March 2008 as the Office Manager. She was
born in Minnesota and raised there until she moved
to Iowa and then later to
Washington in 1990. Val loves the beauty of Washington and proximity she is to the
Ocean and Mountains. Her experience with chiropractic health care began
in 2005, when she sought help from Brad & Dana Chiropractic for
severe neck pain and migraine headaches. Val was amazed by the results,
and attributes the chiropractic care she received (and continues to
receive) with saving her life. She is dedicated to
patients
and doctors alike making sure they have all they
need to receive and give the best care possible. Val loves the patients and enjoys the family office environment.

Melissa Guzman, Part-Time Receptionist
Melissa worked at the reception desk part-time for Brad & Dana Chiropractic since September 2011. Born and
raised in Ketchikan, AK she moved to the area in 2005, to go to school. She has pursued a career as a cosmetologist and graduated from Bellingham Beauty School in 2006. She really enjoys working with people and the creative side of her will continue cutting hair part time. Recently thought she discovered interest in working in a medical office setting. She feels lucky to have found a place at Brad and Dana Chiropractic and is committed to being the best she can be, and helping others in any way that she can. Mellisa wants to make sure that she doing her part to help make every patient's experience at Brad and Dana's a good one. She loves living close to the Ocean and can't see herself living without it. There is nothing more satisfying to her than spending time with family whenever possible, catching up with old friends, and helping others to feel good about themselves.

Renee Larsen, LMP
Renee is a Licenced Massage Therapist (LMP) and has worked for Brad and Dana Chiropractic since May 2011. She has been an LMP for 5 years and received her license in 2006 from Ashmead College (now Everest College) in Seattle, where she studied Massage Therapy. She works with her clients individually to reach their health goals, and specializes in Deep tissue and injury rehabilitation. She is really passionate about massage and it shows in the work she does. Renee was born and raised in Bellingham and her favorite area is Chuckanut drive. The views are beautiful and the drive is very therapeutic for her. She loves working at Brad and Dana Chiropractic because of the laid back and family office environment. If she can make a difference in someone's everyday life by making it more manageable, that is the most gratifying thing in the world for her.

Jessica Gunnoe, LMP
Jessica is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMP) for Brad and Dana Chiropractic and has worked for them sense May 2011. Born in Beckley, W.Va.her family moved to New Jersey at age 3 and she grew-up there until her family moved to Washington in 1993. Jessica has lived in Skagit and Whatcom counties ever since. She truly enjoys Bellingham because of the waterfront, bike trails, music scene and feels Bellingham is a beautiful place to call home because of the community. Jessica received her certification in Massage Therapy in January of 2004 from Ashmead College in Everett, WA. She most recently took a continuing education class for myofascial (connective tissue work) treatment. She enjoys helping clients understand more about natural methods of healing and relaxation. Providing massage allows her to work with clients in achieving and maintaining optimal health. She also assists clients in gaining body awareness and understanding of breath and movement. Jessica appreciates the symbiotic relationship between chiropractic and massage therapy. In particular, she loves seeing clients get the most out of each by utilizing both practices.

Diana Bailey, CGA CGP
Diana is the Marketing Manager for Brad and Dana Chiropractic. Born and raised in New Mexico, Diana moved to the Pacific Northwest over eight years ago. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelors in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management. She has a background in Marketing and Event Management. She enjoys volunteering her time on the Board for Lydia Place and the golf planning committee for the Opportunity Council. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her husband and their three dogs. You won't see much of Diana in the office as she works very part-time and from home. She truly hopes everyone enjoys the new website and wants to remind everyone to make sure they visit Brad & Dana Chiropractic FaceBook page and becomes a fan!
